Hi I am having issues with updating links in Power Ppoint to Excel tables/charts. When setting up the link I am using Paste Special - Paste link - Microsoft Excel Worksheet Object.
However, my charts needs to be edited by some users. Workbook On Error Resume Next 'update first link ppt Workbook. I had copy and paste this vba in powerpoint and this vba is able to run. Because it has attracted low-quality or spam answers that had to be removed, posting an answer now requires 10 reputation on this site (the association bonus does not count).
Paste special option does not allow users to edit the charts. However, I am getting a pop up menu asking to update the file in my documents folder. Would you like to answer one of these unanswered questions instead?
This is a kiosk show-only running on "antique" computers and I want to minimize the update time that people see Power Point rather than my slick, finished presentation.
I have 30 charts that were created from excel and were pasted onto powerpoint slides.
This way, you still have your versioning control, but the Powerpoint file never needs to have its links updated because it will always use a single designated file.
I want to save the Excel file as v2 (having made any necessary changes) and then want to ensure that Power Point links to new v2 Excel file before making any changes within Powerpoint and then saving the updated Power Point file as updated version.
So first question is how do I ensure that Power Point updates all links to v2 Excel file, without changing each linked table/chart individually?
Hence, I am unable to use this paste special option. My source i.e excel file is located in my desktop folder.
